That is a fair point - as much as I personally am a language enthusiast, for most people (especially English speakers), it is not a pressing practical issue. However, I did try to mention some other reasons here why language can be fun and enriching. If you are more casually interested, it is worth considering easier languages (e.g. Italian) as opposed to extremely hard ones (e.g. Japanese)
