Really interesting article! And I actually thought specifically about Farsi while writing this- it's actually similar to English, in that Persian used to have genders but lost them over time because learners were lazy about it. I mostly kept to Europe because this is more of an issue there, but it pretty amazing how the language you speak can change your perspective.
